  This is a list of "The Literature of Jazz", dating from as early as Mr. Merriam can research, up to the year 1950. It includes the names of the authors, the title of the article (or book), the names of musicians about which articles (books) are written, jazz magazines, periodicals, newspapers, and so forth ad infinitum. To our way of thinking, it is the most all-encompassing book of this type which has been written to date.
